MANILA, Philippines – Another cameraman of ABS-CBN was called to the witness stand to testify in the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona.

Danny Piedad is the second cameraman of ABS-CBN presented by the prosecution team before the Senate, sitting as an impeachment court, after Edmond Llosalla, who testified Monday.

Pieda and Llosalla testified on the instances surrounding the issuance of a temporary restraining order on the government’s watchlist order against former President and now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo last November 15 and Arroyo’s attempt to leave the country on the same day.

Senate president and presiding officer Juan Ponce-Enrile allowed the prosecution to play during the proceedings a video taken by Pieda when Arroyo arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport between 8:00 p.m and 9:00 p.m.

The defense objected to the prosecution’s move but Enrile still allowed the showing of the video, saying, “We can’t deny that these things happened anyway.”

The witnesses were presented by the prosecution to prove its allegation in Article VII of the impeachment complaint which accused Corona of “partiality” in granting the TRO in favor of Arroyo and her husband, Jose Miguel Arroyo.
