Motorcycle rider gunned down in CamSur
NAGA CITY, Philippines – A man driving a motorcycle was ambushed and shot dead by three unidentified men in Bato town, Camarines Sur on Monday afternoon, the police said.
Senior Inspector Victor Azuela, officer-in-charge of the Bato Municipal Police Office said Tuesday that villagers identified the victim as Jesus Renolayan, 48.
Initial investigation showed Renolayan was on his way home to Barangay (village) Lobong in Bato when the gunmen shot him in the head. Lobong is around seven kilometers away from the town proper.
Police recovered six empty shells and one live ammunition of an M16 rifle, one slug of a 9-millimeter and Reloyan’s motorcycle.
Azuela said they were still conducting an investigation to determine the motive behind the killing and identify the assailants.
He said the police had responded to a text message from an informant just minutes after the shooting incident.
