Pacquiao says he won’t stop giving relief, cash until campaign season begins
MANILA, Philippines — Amid accusations of vote-buying, presidential aspirant Senator Manny Pacquiao insisted Tuesday he will not stop giving relief and cash to the public until the campaign season officially begins next year.
Pacquiao said that politicians should just do the same since it is the Christmas season, adding that the aid could help those affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
He added that the would only stop giving away cash and relief once the official campaign period begins or if he was forbidden by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
“Hanggat ‘di pa dumating yung time ng official campaign period, yung pagtutulong natin sa kapwa,sa taumbayan ay matagal ko nang ginagawa, noon pang 2002,” Pacquaio said.
“Magpapatuloy yan hanggang sa pagbawalan tayo ng Comelec, susunod tayo. Pero nasa puso ko na yung pagtulong mula pa noon,” he added.
