Aces log sixth straight victory

THE ATHLETES for Christ in Excellent Service (Aces) kept on rolling as they posted their sixth straight win after routing the Word International Ministries, 88-59, in the 2012 Fellowship of Christian Athletes Basketball League.

The Aces upped their record to 6-0 (win-loss) with just one more game left to play in the elimination round in the 34-below division. The top four squads at the end of the eliminations will advance to the crossover semifinal round.

In other results, the Bible Baptist Church Shepherds and the BUCCP Martyrs found themselves tied for second place with similar 5-1 records after registering contrasting wins. The Shephers edged the Praise Cathedral Nets, 54-52, while the Martyrs took out the Blessed Hope 2, 82-65.
The Blessed Hope 1 also got their second win in six games after getting past the BUCCI Zealots, 50-47.

In the 35-above division, the Living Word Christian Church IBI blasted the Living Word Couples Ministry, 85-68, even as the Christian Workers Basketball Association Poimen eked past the Cebu Bethel Temple Lights, 85-83. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
