630 more COVID-19 Delta variant cases detected — DOH
MANILA, Philippines — Six hundred thirty more cases of the COVID-19 Delta variant have been detected in the country recently, the Department of Health (DOH) announced on Monday.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire on Monday the the 630 new cases were detected from the 666 samples collected in March, September, October and November which were run on Nov. 12.
Of the sequenced samples, 630 were found to be Delta variant cases, and one case was found to be an Alpha variant.
The latest run brought the number of total sequenced samples with assigned lineages to 17,925.
Of the total, 6,612 are Delta variant cases, 3,577 are Beta variant cases, and 3,129 are Alpha variant cases.
