Quezon cops record 2 parricide cases
LUCENA CITY––The police in Quezon province reported two separate parricide cases on Tuesday and Wednesday, the first involving a man who took his own life after shooting dead his brother, and the other a son killing his mother.
The first incident happened Tuesday in San Francisco town when a man committed suicide after killing his older brother over an inheritance.
The San Francisco police reported that Renerio Tellar, 52, armed with a 9-mm pistol, shot dead Nemrod Tellar, 54, while the two were inside the former’s house in Barangay Cawayan 2 around 7 a.m.
Nemrod suffered a fatal gunshot wound on the lower left side of the back of his head and died on the spot, police said.
Renerio reportedly also shot himself, after the incident, on the forehead, in an apparent suicide. He died on the spot.
A report said the brothers had a long-standing dispute about the properties they inherited from their parents.

Police Chief Master Sergeant Reynan Luminario, the case investigator, said the suspect got furious with his mother when she wanted him to reconcile with his estranged wife.
“According to the suspect, he just did not want to return to his wife,” Luminario said in a phone interview on Thursday.
Luminario described the suspect as a known drug user in their community. He had just finished spending several months in a rehabilitation center.
