MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) reported 3,410 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, which brings the total confirmed infections in the country to 2,787,276.

This is currently the second lowest daily number of cases reported since June, which accounts for only 7.2 percent of the relatively low number of individuals tested at 46,450.

Meanwhile, the DOH also recorded 5,825 recoveries, which brought total recoveries to 2,698,871 and further reduced active infections to 45,233.

Of the total patients currently infected with the serious respiratory illness caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, 73.6 percent are suffering mild cases, 4.9 percent are asymptomatic, 11.83 percent moderate, 6.8 percent severe, and 2.9 percent critical.

However, four laboratories were not able to submit data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System in the total tests conducted on October 29, the DOH said. These labs contribute, on average, 0.6 percent of samples tested and 0.4 percent of positive individuals.

The same goes for the utilization rate in Metro Manila where occupied ICU beds are currently at 39 percent, isolation beds at 28 percent, ward beds at 29 percent and 30 percent for ventilators.
