SM Prime reaches out to needy through ‘100 Days of Caring’
MANILA, Philippines — In keeping with its commitment to mark “100 Days of Caring” for the holiday season, the employees and management of SM Prime Holdings Inc. (SMPH) have donated P2.5-million to different charities serving the underprivileged.
“SM Prime’s employees give as one family to underserved communities in these challenging times. It has been a difficult year and we hope to give what we can to as many charities so different sectors can all have a meaningful Christmas,” said SM Prime executive director and president Jeffrey Lim.
“We are very grateful to all the employees of SM Prime for selflessly donating this fund to be able to support humanitarian and social causes of their media partners. Your donation to the Inquirer will fund educational scholarships of students in financial need and will aid our advocacies and calamity relief drive,” Inquirer Foundation executive director Connie Kalagayan said.
The donation drive is a project of SMPH and its units and subsidiaries, namely SM Development Corp. (SMDC), SM Offices, SM Hotels and Conventions Corp. (SMHCC) and SM Supermalls including SM Cinema, and SM Lifestyle and Family Entertainment Co. Inc. (FECI).
SMPH provided financial support to the social and humanitarian causes of its media partners, including the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Philippine Star, Manila Bulletin, ABS-CBN and GMA to reach more communities this holiday season apart from those being served by SM Cares and SM Foundation.
SM Supermalls president Steven Tan and SMDC president Jose Mari Banzon led the turnover of the donations to Inquirer Group of Companies CEO Sandy Prieto-Romualdez, Tessa Prieto-Valdes and Kalagayan.
