Northeastern monsoon to bring clouds, rain over eastern Luzon – Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines — The northeastern monsoon, locally known as the “amihan season,” will bring rain over eastern Luzon on Wednesday, while Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience fairer weather said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Pagasa weather specialist Joey Figuracion said cloudy skies and rain are forecast for the Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon and Bicol regions during the northeastern monsoon season.
“Sa nalalabing bahagi ng Luzon ay generally fair ang panahon may tiyansa lamang ng pulo-pulong mahinang pagulan sa nalalabing bahagi ng Central at Northern Luzon at maging sa Metro Manila,” said Figuracion.
(The rest of Luzon will experience generally fair weather where there will only be a chance of light scattered rain in the rest of Central and Northern Luzon as well as in Metro Manila.)
Meanwhile, the entire Visayas and Mindanao will also experience generally fair weather on Wednesday, but thunderstorms should still be expected in the afternoon until evening.
Pagasa is also monitoring two active storms outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR). One is the tropical depression off Palawan, which recently exited the country as a low-pressure area and the other is a tropical storm with the international name “Malou,” last located east of extreme northern Luzon.
“Mababa ang tiyansa nito na papasok pa sa area of responsibility dahil ang galaw ng mga ito ay papalayo ng bansa,” said Figuracion.
(We do not expect it to enter the area of responsibility because both storms are moving away from the country)

Metro Manila: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
Baguio City: 16 to 24 degrees Celsius
Laoag City: 23 to 32 degrees Celsius
Tuguegarao: 22 to 30 degrees Celsius
Legazpi City: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
Puerto Princesa City: 24 to 32 degrees Celsius
Tagaytay: 20 to 29 degrees Celsius
Kalayaan Islands: 24 to 33 degrees Celsius
Iloilo City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
Cebu: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
Tacloban City: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
Cagayan De Oro City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
Zamboanga City: 23 to 33 degrees Celsius
Davao City: 24 to 33 degrees Celsius
Gale warning is still raised over the northern seaboards of Luzon, specifically in the Batanes Islands, Babuyan Islands and Ilocos Norte.
“Ibig sabihin po delikado pa rin sa ating kababayan diyan ang maglayag lalong lalo na sa gumagamit ng maliliit na sasakyang pandagat,” said Figuracion.
(This means that it is still dangerous to sail in these areas, especially those who use small vessels.)
On the other hand, moderate to rough sea conditions are expected in the rest of the country’s coasts.
