ANGELES CITY––The city government vaccinated Monday at least 1,335 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at the Angeles District Jail.

In a statement, the city government said a mobile bus clinic was dispatched to the district jail managed by the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology to administer the first dose of the vaccine against COVID-19 to the PDLs under the “Ronda Bakuna” program.

Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. said vaccinating the PDLs would minimize the spread of COVID-19 in the jail facility.

The city government said 170,650 residents here had been vaccinated fully against COVID-19.

On Monday, it registered 10 new COVID-19 cases, 20 recoveries, and a single death. The fatality was a resident of Balibago village.

Since the pandemic began last year, the city had recorded 12,431 cases, of which 11,702 have recovered while 514 have died.
