MANILA, Philippines — Minors aged 12 years old and below are now prohibited from entering Manila Bay’s dolomite beach, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) announced on Tuesday.

“Children aged 12 and below will not be allowed entry to the Manila Baywalk Dolomite Beach starting today, Oct. 26, with respect to the guidelines of IATF,” the DENR said in a Twitter post.

The dolomite beach will also be closed from October 29 to November 3, during the Undas, according to DENR.

FEATURED STORIES

Manila Bay’s dolomite beach has been open every day from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., and 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.

Local tourists flocked to the artificial beach since then, which led to the disregard of minimum public health standards like social distancing.

To avert super spreader events, the Philippine National Police have deployed more cops to the site.
