San Juan City wins Galing Pook award
MANILA, Philippines — The COVID-19 response of San Juan City has won in the Galing Pook Foundations’ 2021 Search for the Top 10 Outstanding Local Governance Programs.
San Juan developed a strategy that focused on transmission prevention, medical response, quarantine, and vaccination, among others. The local government spearheaded the formation of the first public-private-operated quarantine facility which is the San Juan City Kalinga Kontra Korona Center with Xavier School.
Other Galing Pook awardees include the local governments of Agusan del Sur, Alabat town in Quezon, Cagayan de Oro City, Negro Occidental, Quezon City, Tagum City and Valenzuela City. —JANE BAUTISTA
