Besinga mauls Traya in ALA-Summit card

MELVIN Besinga of the University of the Visayas (UV) boxing team beat Eleno Traya in their three-round main bout showdown of the ALA-Summit Fight Night Amateur Boxing Series held last Sunday at the Gaisano Countrymall car park.

Besinga got the nod of all three judges to defeat Traya via unanimous decision in the 64kg division.

The visiting Tiboy Ardiente of Maramag, Bukidnon edged Arjay Burasca of Cabancalan Elementary School in the 56kg division.

Cabancalan, Mandaue’s Cherwellan Cantel beat Wendel Acharon of UV Boxing Team in their 54kg clash.

In other results, Kevin Jake Cataraja of Talamban Night High School won over Jicky Gako of Mandaue City; Rolan Servania bowed to Christian Bacolod of the Mabolo Night High School; Ritchie Montealto of Consolacion defeated Rie Muñez of UV Boxing Team; UV Boxing Team’s Bryan Remedio routed Brian Paden of Opao, Mandauel; Polid Banal of Cabancalan Elementary School won over Ryan Dungog of Cabancalan Elementary School; Jeorge Ledesma of the Philippine Australian Boxing Club stunned Marvin Lulu of Sultan Kudarat; and Ramil Casañares of the Pit-os Night High School defeated Phil-Aust Boxing Club’s Raymund Rama. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G.
