Cebu City councilor dives into mayoral race
CEBU CITY—A top city councilor has taken the plunge into the mayoral race, saying he was doing so for Cebuanos.
Councilor David Tumulak filed a certificate of candidacy for mayor on Thursday (Oct. 7) just hours after members of the local party Bando Osmeña Pundok Kauswagan filed theirs. These included former Mayor Tomas Osmeña and his wife Margarita, who is running for mayor.
“What I am doing is for the Cebuanos, for peace in our city and unity among the people,” Tumulak said.
Tumulak, who served as radio announcer prior to becoming councilor, will face Cebu City Acting Mayor Michael Rama and Osmeña.
