Active COVID-19 cases in Olongapo drop further to 448

OLONGAPO CITY—For the fifth consecutive day, the city recorded more recoveries than new COVID-19 cases, local task force data showed Tuesday, Oct. 5.

At least 27 more virus-infected patients in this city were cleared of the disease, which further brought down its active cases to 448 from 491 the previous day.

At least 4,487 recoveries recorded reflect an 86-percent recovery rate of the 5,203 infections since last year.

Eleven new infections and one death were added Tuesday to the city’s COVID-19 data. The fatality is a 54-year-old man.

The city’s COVID-19 death toll stood at 268, the local task force said.
