Another Oreta to seek Malabon mayoral post
MANILA, Philippines — The youngest brother of the incumbent mayor of Malabon City has filed his certificate of candidacy for the mayoral post.
On Sunday, Councilor Jose Lorenzo Oreta, 31, confirmed that he had already filed his certificate alongside the rest of the members of his slate at Barangay Catmon.
His running mate is incumbent Vice Mayor Ninong dela Cruz. They are running under the newly formed Team Pamilyang Malabonian ticket composed of representatives from transport, labor and family sectors.
In a statement, Oreta said he heeded the challenge of continuing what his older brother, incumbent Mayor Lenlen Oreta, has accomplished for the city. The Oretas have ruled this northern city since 2004.
