Police arrests drug suspect, seizes 1 kg of meth in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY — Police authorities arrested a young man from Talipao, Sulu and seized a kilo of suspected crystal meth during a buy-bust operation on Thursday morning (Sept. 23).

Colonel Rexmel Reyes, Zamboanga City police director, identified the suspect as Elmer Dalhadi Esmiraji, also known as Totoh, 24, and currently jobless.

Esmiraji agreed to sell meth to authorities in a wharf in Arena Blanco village.

When collared, Esmiraji claimed he did not know that the bag he was carrying contained illegal drugs. He also claimed that he is only 18 years old.

Among the items seized from Esmiraji was a bunch of ‘boodle money’ used to supposedly pay for the meth.

Reyes estimated the value of the seized meth at P6.8 million.
