PNP records 109th death due to COVID-19
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police logged on Sunday its 109th death from COVID-19. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, chief of the PNP, said the latest victim was a 37-year-old master sergeant assigned in Calabarzon who died on Sept. 9.
According to Eleazar, the policeman experienced mild symptoms on Aug. 28 and tested positive for the virus.
He was confined at a hospital on Aug. 30 due to difficulty in breathing. He said the policeman had hypertension and got his first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on Aug. 6.
