4 Tabuk City villages locked down after 2 COVID-19 deaths

TUGUEGARAO CITY — A 14-day granular lockdown in four villages in Tabuk City in Kalinga province will be enforced from September 4 at 12:01 a.m. until midnight of September 16.

In his order on Friday, September 3, Tabuk City Mayor Darwin Estrañero declared the granular lockdown in Bulanao Norte, Dagupan Centro, Dagupan Weste and Agbannawag after a spike in COVID-19 cases that triggered two deaths.

Health reports on Friday said at least 473 COVID-19 active cases were recorded in Tabuk City. Bulanao Centro has 91, Lacnog East, 63; Bulanao Norte, 46; Dagupan West, 26; and Dagupan Centro and Agbannawag with 28 active cases.

Lacnog East was earlier placed in a lockdown on September 2 at 12 a.m. to September 14 at 12 midnight.

The mayor has barred residents who are below 18-years-old and those over 65-years-old from going outside their homes.

However, jogging, walking, and other non-contact sports were allowed.

Public transport, hotels, restaurants, and canteens were also allowed at 50-percent capacity.

Contact tracing, swabbing, and disinfection meanwhile are ongoing.
