Over 100 more power plant workers in Zambales contract COVID-19

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — At least 101 more power plant workers in Masinloc town in Zambales province were among the 181 new cases of COVID-19 registered in the province, health officials confirmed on Saturday (September 4).

Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, confirmed that a total of 210 workers tested positive as of Friday. Some of those who tested positive are yet to be added to the province’s tally.

Most of the workers aged 23 to 62 showed no symptoms of the disease.

With the new cases there, the province has reached a new record-high with 1,109 COVID-19 active cases on Friday.

Since the pandemic started last year, the province reported 6,462 confirmed cases, 187 of which died from the disease.
