San Juan to start giving COVID-19 jabs to outsiders
MANILA, Philippines — The local government in San Juan will begin administering COVID-19 vaccinations to non-residents and non-workers, as most of the area’s population has already been vaccinated.
San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora said in a Facebook post on Friday that walk-in applications would not be allowed despite the latest deregulation.
After registering, people should wait for the confirmatory message before proceeding to vaccination sites.
“Magsisimula na po ang San Juan magbakuna ng mga hindi residente o hindi nagta-trabaho sa ating lungsod. Paki-scan lamang po ang QR Code na ito upang makapag-rehistro po kayo at sundin ang lahat ng panuntunan at paalala na nakasaad sa post na ito,” Zamora said in a statement.
(San Juan would start vaccinating people who are not residents or who are not working in our city. Please just scan the QR code in the post so that you can register, while following all the rules and reminders stated in this post.)

All vaccinations would be on a first-come, first-serve basis which means those who will be able to register first would be prioritized.
Zamora also reminded the public that vaccination hopefuls must be 18 years old.
“Siguraduhing may dala po kayong valid government ID, dapat kayo po ay 18 years old and above at hindi pa nababakunahan sa ibang lungsod o probinsya. Ito po ay on a first come, first served basis hanggat meron pa po kaming supply ng bakuna mula sa National Government,” he said.
(Please ensure that you bring a valid government ID, that you are aged 18 years old and above who has yet to receive a vaccine in any other city or province. This is on a first-come, first-served basis as long as we have vaccine supplies from the national government.)
“Ang lahat po ng pangalan ng magpapa-rehistro sa Juan Vax ay aming isusumite sa DICT upang i-verify nila kung sila ba ay bakunado na o hindi pa. Ang mga ite-text po namin ay ang mga pangalan na sasabihin ng DICT na hindi pa bakunado. Maraming salamat po!” he added.
(All the names of those who would register for the Juan Vax would be submitted to the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to verify if they are really vaccinated or not. We would only send messages to those who have yet to get vaccinated. Thank you very much!)
San Juan is one of the fastest Metro Manila cities to achieve high vaccination rates, as the city recently announced that 70 percent of its target residents are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
In terms of the first COVID-19 vaccine dose, the city has already exceeded its cap, meaning more than the target population has been vaccinated.

San Juan is one of the several Metro Manila cities that would start providing vaccines to other people who are not from their city. Marikina, Mandaluyong, and Pateros would also open vaccinations to residents of other areas as they have already reached their vaccination targets.
