Monsoon trough brings rains in Palawan; fair weather for rest of PH
MANILA, Philippines — The entire island of Palawan on Friday will experience cloudy and rainy weather as the monsoon trough prevails in the western part of Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
“Ang nakakaapekto sa kanlurang bahagi ng Luzon ay ang monsoon trough—ito ‘yung pagsasalubong ng hangin sa northeast at southwest,” said weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio in a public weather forecast.
(The monsoon trough affects the western part of Luzon. It is when the winds in the northeast and southwest meet.)
“Kung minsan sa monsoon trough, may namumuong low pressure area pero kasalukuyan, wala po tayong namo-monitor na low pressure area sa loob at labas ng ating Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR),” Aldczar added.
(Sometimes, in the monsoon trough, a low pressure area would form, but presently, we don’t monitor any low pressure area inside and outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility.)
