12 Army soldiers contract COVID-19 in Zambales
SAN ANTONIO, Zambales – At least 12 members of the Philippine Army based in this province tested positive for COVID-19.
Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, confirmed Saturday that eight Army soldiers, aged 24 to 33 and assigned in Barangay Bulawen in Palauig town, were among the 45 new cases of COVID-19 in the province.
Most of them have no travel history outside the province but they were exposed to four of their colleagues who tested positive for the coronavirus.
Since the pandemic started last year, Zambales recorded a total of 5,201 cases of COVID-19, of the number, 656 remain active, 4,398 are recoveries and 147 are deaths.
