4 drug suspects arrested in QC buy-bust ops

MANILA, Philippines — Four drug suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by Novaliches Police Station’s Drug Enforcement Unit on Thursday, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said.

According to QCPD, undercover police officers tried to purchase illegal drugs from the suspects identified as Joseph Casas, 28; Murphy Eugenio, 21; Joshua Baron, 32; and Romel Singson, 22 at the agreed meeting place at a gasoline station along Quirino Highway in Quezon City’s Barangay Gulod.

All suspects are residents of Novaliches, QCPD said.

At least 14 sachets of a crystalline substance suspected to be shabu were obtained from the suspects, who are currently under the custody of the Novaliches Police Station.

The illegal substances’ estimated price was P20,400.

Aside from the illegal drugs, one blue cigarette case, two P100 bills were used as the marked money and two P1,000 bills were used as boodle money.

QCPD said that the suspects would face charges for violating Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.  Casas on the other hand would face an additional charge for Section 5 (Sale of Illegal Drugs) of R.A. No. 9165.
