Zambales starts vaccinating essential workers against COVID-19
SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — This province has started its COVID-19 vaccination for those under the A4 category or essential workers.
At least 566 workers received the first dose of either AstraZeneca or Sinovac vaccines during the recent mass vaccination in the province, data from the provincial health office showed on Monday (Aug. 16).
To date, a total of 55,162 residents in the province belonging to the priority groups, such as health workers, senior citizens, those with comorbidities and essential workers, have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Some of them received the single-shot Janssen vaccines of Johnson & Johnson.
The province needs to inoculate 70 percent of its 590,800 population to achieve herd immunity.
