8 more cops in Central Luzon test positive for coronavirus

OLONGAPO CITY– Eight new cases of COVID-19 were recorded among the workforce of the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3), its health service reported on Monday (Aug. 9).

The new infections raised to 2,008 the total number of COVID-19 cases that the PRO3 registered since last year.

It was on Aug. 7 when the COVID-19 cases among the personnel of the Philippine National Police in Region 3 first breached the 2,000 mark after its cases rose from 1,995 to 2,000.

At least 1,905 COVID-19 recoveries were also recorded by the PRO3 on Monday, including the seven new recoveries that day.

Its death toll remained at five with no new fatalities being recorded in the last few weeks.
