Bus firms suspend Manila-Pampanga trips
MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga—Passenger bus firms plying the Metro Manila-Pampanga routes suspended their operations on Aug. 2 to 15 upon the request of the Pampanga government.
Among these are Victory Liner, which confirmed this through an advisory Monday on its Facebook page.
The bus firm said it had temporarily stopped its Cubao-San Fernando City (Pampanga) trips.
On July 30, Pampanga Gov. Dennis Pineda wrote a letter to Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board-Region 3 director Ahmed Quizon requesting “the temporary cessation of operations of the provincial buses plying from Manila to the province of Pampanga effective August 2, 2021.”
Pineda also asked Quizon to ensure that passengers of buses passing by Pampanga on their way to and from Bataan province would not alight in any part of this province.
The governor said his request was in line with the surging COVID-19 cases in different parts of the country and detection of the Delta variant.
