Tagbilaran devotees celebrate ‘God the Father of All Mankind’ feast day

TAGBILARAN CITY – Devotees trooped to the St. Joseph the Worker Cathedral in this city to celebrate the feast day of God the Father of All Mankind on Sunday, August 1.

Sister Precy, who requested to be identified this way, introduced the celebration in Bohol province in 2010.

“It is to make God the Father known, honored, and loved by all his children,” said Sister Precy, a missionary, visionary and divine healer who traveled from Davao City to Bohol to spread God’s word.

She said the Lord has desired to have one Sunday every year dedicated to honoring God’s paternal nature under the title of “Father of all Mankind.”

Sister Precy suffered persecution and hardship throughout her mission. She was hated and humiliated by many for organizing events for the church and was mocked for her faith.

Instead of fighting back, she prayed for her persecutors.

Devotion to God the Father reached in the towns of Getafe, Talibon, Pilar, Sierra Bullones and Inabanga.

Wearing a red dress, the color of the icon of God the Father of All Mankind, Helen Ayoc-Garcia, 51, went to the church to celebrate the feast day.

She said she lived as a devotee since 2016 after she suffered depression when her 8-year-old son succumbed to dengue.

“It was Sister Precy who shared to me about God the Father and his loving and caring heart to His children,” said Garcia.

Weak and sickly, Linda Perocho, 41, went to the Shrine of God the Father of All Mankind in Inabanga town and prayed that she will be healed from acute myoma

After a few months, Linda fully recovered.

“I was and still am a devotee,” said Linda who continues to visit the shrine to this day.

Sister Precy said the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the faith in different ways but trusting the Father is a balm for the soul in this moment of darkness and doubt.

Sister Precy said God is the Father of all mankind in a general sense because He is the creator of all things, wild and free.

“God the Father is our Eternal Father. He is the Creator, Source, Sustainer, and Sovereign of all creation. He is just and holy, merciful and gracious,” she said.
