2 accomplices of criminal gang in Albay nabbed
LEGAZPI CITY — Police operatives arrested two male accomplices of the notorious Concepcion criminal group at separate police stings in Libon town on Saturday, a police report said.
Ricky Llagas, 43, a fisherman of Barangay Malobago, was arrested by police armed with a search warrant in his own home. The report did not specify the time of the arrest.
The suspect yielded a loaded caliber .45 pistol, bullets, and a fragmentation grenade, said Police Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, spokesperson of the Bicol police.
In a separate raid, police operatives collared Gilbert Señadan, 51, a village councilman of Malobago, and recovered from his residence another caliber .45 pistol, a magazine with six bullets, and a fragmentation grenade.
The search warrants were issued by presiding judge Edwin Maalat of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) branch 14 in Ligao City.
Article continues after this advertisementThe suspects, according to police were partners of one Darwin Santiago, a member of the Concepcion criminal group operating in Albay and Camarines Sur.
Charges for illegal possession of firearms, ammunition and explosives are being readied against the suspects.
