Village councilman nabbed for illegal firearms, explosive in Albay

Arrest of 2 suspects carrying explosives in Agusan


LEGAZPI CITY — A barangay kagawad (councilman) was arrested for the illegal possession of a firearm and a grenade during a search of his house in Libon town in Albay province on Saturday morning.

Police Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, the spokesperson of the Bicol police, said police officers armed with search warrants, searched the residence of Gilbert Señadan, 51, in Barangay Buga at around 4:50 a.m.


Judge Edwin Ma-alat of the Ligao City Regional Trial Court Branch 14 issued the search warrants.

Police officers seized a caliber .45 Remington pistol with six live bullets and a fragmentation hand grenade.


The suspect was later turned over to the custody of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in the province.
