58 new COVID-19 deaths increase fatalities in PH to 26,844 — DOH

MANILA, Philippines — An additional 58 patients of COVID-19 have died, according to the Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday, increasing the total number of fatalities nationwide to 26,844.

According to DOH, the coronavirus death toll takes 1.77 percent of the total 1,517,903 confirmed COVID-19 cases since the pandemic hit the Philippines in early 2020.

DOH also reported that active COVID-19 cases currently stand at 46,806, the majority (91.7 percent) of which are experiencing mild infections while 2.1 percent are asymptomatic, 1.9 percent have moderate symptoms, 2.7 percent have severe ones, and 1.6 percent are in critical condition.
