2 drug suspects yield P204k ‘shabu’ in Lucena bust

LUCENA CITY – Two alleged illegal drug peddlers were arrested and yielded P204,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation here on Friday night, police said Saturday.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Romulo Albacea, Lucena police chief, in a report identified the suspects Joseph Real, 51, and Loreiliza Berba, 41, both residents of Barangay (village) Dalahican, were nabbed after they sold a pack of shabu to an undercover policeman acting as a drug user in their village at around 10:20 p.m.

Authorities seized seven plastic sachets of shabu weighing 30 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P204,000.

The police are conducting an investigation to determine the source of the illegal drugs being distributed by the suspects.

The suspects were identified as one of the main suppliers of shabu to fishermen, workers at the pier and other drug users in the village and nearby areas.

The suspects were detained and are facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
