PH COVID-19 death toll now at 26,092 with 77 new fatalities
MANILA, Philippines — The number of lives lost to COVID-19 in the country is now at 26,092 after the Department of Health (DOH) reported 77 new fatalities on Tuesday.
The death toll accounts for 1.76% of the total confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Philippines, which now stands at over 1.48 million.
The DOH also logged 3,604 new infections and 5,840 new recoveries, making the number of active cases to 46,934.
The health department said 47 cases previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
It added that all laboratories were operational on July 11 but seven laboratories were not able to submit their data.
