MANILA, Philippines — The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Caraga, Davao Region and Palawan on Wednesday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja said only the ITCZ and the southwest monsoon currently affect the weather condition in the country after tropical depression Emong exited the Philippine area of responsibility and dissipated in southeastern China.

“Sa ngayon mayroon po tayong mga cloud clusters o kumpol ng ulap dito sa West Philippine Sea. Associated po sya sa monsoon trough o ‘yung convergence ng southwest monsoon at ng hangin galing sa northern hemisphere,” he said in a weather forecast, adding that the southwest monsoon is also responsible for cloudy skies expected in Palawan.
