A dismissed policeman and his six cohorts, allegedly posing as policemen, were rounded up on Wednesday in Quezon City by real cops when they tried to extort P380,000 from Talisay, Batangas, Vice Mayor Charlie Natanauan.

The group allegedly offered to facilitate the release of a favorable Office of the Ombudsman resolution in a supposed complaint against Natanauan.

The suspects were identified as dismissed Patrolman Joaquin Flores Jr., Domingo Capuz, Renz Manago, Elton Lopez, Gabriel Momjuan, Armando Silao and Ocito del Monte.

Police said the suspects were arrested in an entrapment operation at a café in Maginhawa Street, Teacher’s Village, in Quezon City on Wednesday afternoon.
