Former VP Binay mourns death of Aquino: Political differences won’t diminish our families’ ties
MANILA, Philippines — Former Vice President Jejomar C. Binay mourned the death of former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, saying that while they had “political differences”, it will not diminish the friendship between their families.
“Noynoy and I may have had political differences during the last few years of his term, but that will not diminish the many years of friendship between our families,” Binay said in a tweet.
“My deepest condolences to the family. Godspeed, Pareng Noy,” he added.

Aquino died at 4:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Capitol Medical Center in Quezon City. He served as the country’s 15th president from 2010 to 2016.
Binay served as vice president during Aquino’s term.
