P3.5 million worth of damage in Negros Occidental due to Dante

BACOLOD CITY – Tropical Storm Dante has left at least P3.5 million worth of damage to crops and infrastructure in two cities and two towns in Negros Occidental.

Hinoba-an town reported damages amounting to P518,500 and P1.8 million to infrastructure and crops respectively, said Zeaphard Caelian, Provincial Disaster  Management Program Division chief.

Cadiz City, on the other hand, pegged the damage to crops in the city to P872,785.

Provincial Agriculturist Japhet Masculino also reported the damage to crops in Pontevedra town at P257,535 and Victorias City at P113,775.

Flooding brought on by Dante also affected 185 families or 520 persons in Hinoba-an, Binalbagan, Isabela, EB Magalona, Talisay City and Himamaylan City.
