COVID-19 death toll in PH nears 21,000

MANILA, Philippines — The country’s death toll due to COVID-19 moved closer to 21,000 as the Department of Health (DOH) reported 107 new casualties related to the viral disease.
According to DOH’s COVID-19 bulletin, the 20,966 deaths across the country currently represents 1.70 percent of the 1.230 million cases recorded in the country.
Monday’s new deaths are relatively lower compared to previous days where the country’s daily increase in casualties hovered around the 180 mark.
Earlier, DOH numbers showed that COVID-19 infections are on the rise again, with 6,684 new cases recorded on Friday. All in all, there are 1,230,301 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country.
