2 Olongapo City seniors succumb to COVID-19, death toll at 80
OLONGAPO CITY – Two senior citizens here recently succumbed to COVID-19, raising to 80 the city’s death toll as of Saturday.
In a statement, Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. said the fatalities were a 64-year-old woman from Barangay New Cabalan and a 79-year-old woman from Barangay New Kalalake.
Both patients had comorbidities and were hospitalized after experiencing symptoms of the viral illness.
Paulino said 22 new COVID-19 cases were also added to the city’s tally on Saturday.
So far, Olongapo City has logged 1,762 COVID-19 cases. A total of 1,483 have so far recovered.
