Mayor of Leyte’s San Isidro town positive for COVID-19
TACLOBAN CITY — A Leyte town mayor has tested positive for the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Mayor Remedio Veloso of San Isidro town, in a statement, said he and members of his family isolated themselves to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which causes severe respiratory illness COVID-19.
“I am saddened to inform you that I have tested positive for COVID-19. But I assure you that I am doing well now. By God’s grace, I do not have any COVID-19 symptoms such as difficulty of breathing and fever,” he said.
Veloso said he ordered the disinfection of the entire municipal building from May 17 to 18.
