Occ. Mindoro records highest number of COVID-19 cases in single day
CITY OF CALAPAN – Occidental Mindoro recorded its highest number of COVID-19 cases in a day on Saturday evening.
Ma. Teresa Vergara, provincial health officer, in a phone interview on Sunday morning, said 34 new cases were reported.
Since the pandemic last year, the province has logged a total of 777 COVID-19 cases, of which 131 are active, 624 have recovered and 22 deaths.
“Asymptomatics should isolate even from family members not only from co-workers. If with symptoms think COVID first, not last, because they will attribute symptoms first to flu. They would just think it’s COVID when it’s already severe and family members were already infected,” said Tan.
She reminded those who live with seniors and persons with co-morbidities in the house to “leave your footwear outside and take a bath, change clothes first before interacting with them.”
“If you are a close contact don’t wait for the health center to volunteer the information and practice self-isolation,” said Tan.
