CFA prexy to attend AFDP launching today
CEBU Football Association (CFA) president Richard Montayre left for Manila yesterday to take part in today’s launching of the Asian Football Development Project (AFDP) in Calamba, Laguna.
Expected to join the launching, held in partnership with the Philippine Football Federation (PFF), is Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) vice president HRH Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, founder and chairman of the AFDP.
Montayre also heads the PFF grassroots and youth development committee.
The AFDP is a non-profit youth commission based in Amman, Jordan and is aimed at providing effective, needs-based assistance to all Asian national and regional football associations and affiliates in a fair and transparent manner.
The AFDP will also be assisting the PFF in relaunching the Kasibulan Football Grassroots Development Program by providing equipment to support their grassroots activities.
One of the pillars of AFDP is supporting grassroots and youth football development, which also includes advancing women’s football, representing Asian member associations and protecting and developing the game.
