PH expecting 1.1 million more Pfizer vaccines at end of May
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines is expecting the arrival of 1.1 million more doses of Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine by the end of May, vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said Monday.
“Bago mag-end po ang May, meron pa pong 1.1 million na Pfizer na darating,” Galvez said in a pre-recorded meeting with President Rodrigo Duterte.
(Before the end of May, we will have 1.1 million doses of Pfizer coming.)
Galvez said another 500,000 doses of Sinovac’s COVID-19 vaccine CoronaVac are also expected to be delivered this month.
Article continues after this advertisementFurther, Galvez said negotiations are still ongoing for two million more doses of Russian-made Sputnik V.

- 1.1 million doses of Pfizer BioNTech’s vaccine
- 4.5 million doses of CoronaVac
- 250,000 doses of Moderna’s vaccine
- 1.3 million doses of AstraZeneca’s vaccine
- 2 million doses of Sputnik V
So far, the Philippines has received more than 7.5 million doses of jabs, the most recent of which is two million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine from the World Health Organization-led COVAX facility.
The country is also expecting 193,000 doses of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine this Monday night.
