Over 12,000 cops vaccinated against COVID-19

MANILA, Philippines — Over 12,000 police officers have already been vaccinated against COVID-19,  data from the Philippine National Police (PNP) released on Saturday showed.

As of May 7, 2021,  a total of 12,880 personnel of the PNP have already received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccines.

A total of 4,865 have already received their second dose.

Of those who received their first dose, 10,791 got the CoronaVac vaccine from Sinovac Biotech, 2,082 were got AstraZeneca shots, five got vaccines from Moderna, and two have received Pfizer vaccines.

PNP chief Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar said the personnel who have received Moderna and Pfizer vaccines are police attachés vaccinated abroad.

Meanwhile, data also as of May 7 showed that a total of 21,086 PNP personnel have so far tested positive for COVID-19.

There are currently  1,535 are active cases (126 new cases reported on Friday), 19,493 recoveries and 58 deaths.
