MANILA, Philippines — The liquor ban being implemented in the city of San Juan is lifted starting May 1, Mayor Francis Zamora announced Friday.

In a Facebook post, Zamora said while the liquor ban will be lifted, current prohibition on consumption of alcohol in public places remains in place.

“Effective May 1, 2021, the liquor ban in San Juan will be lifted. However, our existing ordinance prohibiting consumption of alcohol in public places such as streets, parks, and government facilities is still in effect,” Zamora said.
