PNP sees 2 more COVID-19 fatalities, 55 total so far
MANILA, Philippines—The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday (April 26) recorded two new COVID-19 fatalities, bringing the PNP death toll to 55, higher than in many provinces.
The latest fatalities were a 46-year-old male non-commissioned officer assigned to the National Capital Region Police Office and a 39-year-old non-uniformed civilian employee from the Directorate for Personnel Records and Management, the PNP said.
The police force also registered at least 107 new COVID-19 cases.
In the PNP alone, at least 19,639 cases had been recorded since the pandemic broke last year. At least 1,930 were tagged as active while 240 had recovered.
