Isabela city enforces ‘GCQ Bubble’ to prevent mass gatherings
CAUAYAN CITY—The city government started imposing on Monday (April 26) more stringent restrictions under general community quarantine, officials said.
The move, which Mayor Bernard Faustino Dy called “GCQ Bubble”, would last for one week and meant to prevent a surge in COVID-19 cases which had been blamed on mass gatherings.
GCQ is the lowest form of quarantine classification in the country.
Dy has also ordered the temporary closure of the Gawagaway-yan Festival Grounds, the Sustainable Development Goals Park and the Benjamin G. Dy Memorial Sports Complex where residents were usually seen gathering.
A team was also deployed to strictly enforce checkpoints in the city.
Dy has allowed a 50-percent skeletal workforce in public and private offices and selected business establishments.

Article continues after this advertisementA ban on alcoholic drinks was also imposed and curfew was set from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. during the GCQ Bubble.
The city currently has 407 active COVID-19 cases.
