20 drug suspects fall in Cavite; over P1.7k shabu seized

LUCENA CITY –– At least 20 drug suspects were arrested and over P1.7 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) were seized during anti-drug operations in Cavite province on Thursday.

Colonel Marlon Santos, Cavite police chief, said in a report released at noon Thursday that one of the suspects, Sulayka Ogagang alias “Layking Casar,” was collared after he sold suspected shabu to an undercover police in a drug deal in General Mariano Alvarez town.

The police confiscated from him 260 grams of shabu with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P1.768 million, the report said.

Ogagang is on the police drug watch list, the police said.

Also arrested were 19 other suspected drug pushers in separate buy-bust operations in Bacoor, Imus, Cavite, Dasmariñas, and Tagaytay cities, and Silang, Carmona, Noveleta, Indang, and Naic towns, the report added.

Authorities seized 45 plastic sachets of shabu, an undisclosed amount of cash believed to be from drug sales, and drug paraphernalia.

The report did not state the estimated value of the drugs seized from the other suspects.

The police also held four wanted criminals and 16 illegal gamblers, according to the report. INQ
