Zambales call center logs 66 COVID-19 cases

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales—A COVID-19 outbreak has stricken a business process outsourcing (BPO), or call center, company in the capital town of Iba, according to local health officials on Wednesday (April 14).

Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, confirmed that a total of 66 workers of the call center were infected with SARS Cov2, the coronavirus that causes COVID-19, since last week.

The patients are now being treated in various facilities while the company undergoes disinfection.

On Wednesday, the province reported 19 new COVID-19 cases and 55 recoveries.

The province now has 1,476 COVID-19 cases, 222 of which are active. At least 1,224 patients had recovered from the disease while 29 had died.
