FDA urged to approve more vaccines

/ 05:40 AM April 11, 2021

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) should issue more emergency use authorizations (EUAs) for other vaccines against COVID-19 so that senior citizens have more options when getting inoculated.

Rep. Rodolfo Ordanes, the House senior citizens panel chair, made the appeal on Saturday, pointing out that supplies of AstraZeneca for the Filipino elderly had already run out of supply.

“The country needs more than just two vaccine choices. This is why I appeal to the FDA to approve more EUAs for other COVID-19 vaccines,” Ordanes said.

He said senior citizens were waiting for the arrival of the third batch of AstraZeneca by the end of April.
